The 2015 Kia Picanto is going to be a small update over the previous generation which is going to be on the market for almost a year until a whole new generation is going to be introduced, most likely at the start of 2016. The next year model is going to add a bunch of new features, new and improved engines as well as a lighter body which not only it will give ti a better fuel economy but it will also provide better fuel consumption.
If cheap cars is what you’re looking for than the Picanto might be exactly what you were looking for because the base model can be had for just 8000 pounds in the UK which is pretty much the cheapest car you can get except the new Sandero. The release date for the 2015 model of the Picanto is set to be at the end of January while the brand new model will come on the market by the end of 2015.
2015 Kia Picanto engine
Engine wise, the 2015 Picanto will come with the same engines as before meaning that the base model will get a 1 liter 3 cylinder petrol engine which is said to make just as much power as before. This means that 60 to 70 horsepower should be achievable by the base engine. The higher end model will get a 1.25 liter inline 4 with up to 86 horsepower and 90 lb-ft of torque which may not seem like much but it is more than enough for a small city car.
Both engines are going to be available as standard with a 5 speed manual and front wheel drive while the 1.25 liter engine will also get a 4 speed automatic as an option.
2015 Kia Picanto interior
On the interior, the 2015 Kia Picanto will be anything you could want from a city car and a bit extra. The base model will come with USB and line-in connectivity, air conditioning, electric windows and electric power steering. The higher end models will add satellite navigation, aluminum inserts, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shifter and also electric mirrors.
2015 Kia Picanto exterior
Its exterior is nothing to be ashamed of. It is a small but practical city car which is just the right size for those crowded areas. The only drawback is probably the limited cargo space which is small even by the compact cars standards. On the front, the small facelift will get a new pair of headlights which this time will add LED daytime running lights as well as a black front grille while at the back the Picanto will receive a new set of tail lights which is going to carry over to the next generation as well.
